Project 3 Artist Statement

The fairy tale I chose to modernize is Cinderella. I chose this story because of its classic story line as well as its popularity among all fairy tales. My version of this story involves a male Cinderella who is a basketball fanatic. Instead of "going to the ball" Cinderella wants to "ball with his bros" which is a popular meme on the internet at the moment. However, he cannot ball with his bros as his house is messy and his evil stepmother will not allow it. After failing to convince her, he gets a visit from his Fairy God father; Kobe Bryant, who gives him the confidence to go out and play ball. I had a lot of fun brainstorming and filming this project. My original as going to be based off of Alice in Wonderland, but after seeing my new favorite ball with bros meme, I knew i had to tell THIS story.
